As reported by AIT, a a middle-aged man Mr. Fredrick Onuigbo just few hours to the new year committed suicide by setting himself ablaze in Abuja, the Federal Capital territory on the 23rd December, 2013.
It
is reported that Mr Fredrick faced an ejection threat from the
Landlord, his 7 Children are out of school, his mother’s corpse was in
the mortuary, he had no single food in his house, he had lost everything
in his business and he was faced with loan repayment from a
Micro-finance bank.
Whilst arrangement was in top gear for the yuletide for many families,
According to the family members, Late Fredrick wondered why “Economic Growth” is no longer about food on table, roof above the head, affordable medical facilities, good education…. he was caught in the web of economic depreciation which has been choking him for years now.
