Golden Eaglets star, Kelechi Iheanacho, has signed a
pre-contract with Manchester City and will move to the Premier League club in
October, when he turns 18.
Kelechi's father confirmed the transfer yesterday, after the
deal seemed to have collapsed after a dispute between his parents and the club
over bonus payments.
"The situation is that Kelechi hasn’t turned 18 yet and
until he does, he can’t sign but what he has done is sign a pre-contract with
Manchester City pending his 18th birthday," he commented on the transfer
at the Confederation of African Football’s award ceremony in Lagos, where
Iheanacho won the most promising talent of 2013 award
The transfer fee reportedly amount about £250,000, with a
further £300,000 to be paid to the Taye Academy in Owerri and £350,000 to the
wonderkid’s father.
