Chris Brown continues to face the consequences from his East Coast brawl and stint behind bars in October.
A Los Angeles judge revoked the singer’s probation Monday stemming
from the alleged assault in Washington, D.C., but he got off relatively
easy. Instead of going straight to the slammer, Rihanna’s
ex was ordered to stay exactly where he is -- in an L.A. rehab facility
where he’s been living since Nov. 20 when he was ordered by the court
to complete a three-month treatment program for anger management.
He must also perform 24 hours of community service, three additional
days of 8-hour community service and he'll be subject to random drug
testing.
According to a report released on his progress, Brown (who sported a
new blond ‘do for his court appearance alongside his attorney Mark Geragos) has
"made improvements and positive behavior change in the program since
his arrival. He is participating in multiple daily group and individual
therapy sessions, including anger management," per E! News.
The report also states the 24-year-old superstar has "been taken off
medical marijuana and is taking psychotropic medication as prescribed"
and all random drug tests have turned up negative results.
It seems that since getting kicked out of rehab the first time around,
Brown is taking the second stay much more seriously: He "appears to
have a more serious and responsible demeanor and is responding well to
dual diagnosis treatment program changes and medication," as stated in
the report.
Brown will have permission to leave California to appear at a hearing in the D.C. assault case on Jan. 8.
