ALERT: Cult War Raging In Rivers State Leaving Trail Of Dead Bodies



Rivers State - At least 12 people were killed in Rivers State in the course of violent clashes between various cult groups. The incidents have been occuring at different times and in diffent places of the state.

Many fear that the cultists' activities pose danger to Rivers State residents, especially when political activities would start in full swing.

Some groups went on rampage in Elelenwo area of the state, moving from house to house, shooting anybody in sight.


Over five persons were killed at Elelenwo cult war on Thursday night. Among the victims were a married couple. The cultists banged on the door of their house and shot them on the spot when the door was opened.

In another incident, on Friday, two cult groups, Greenlanders and Icelanders, clashed in supremacy war. The conflict left over 12 persons dead. The battle zone was Emughan, one of the six districts that make up Abua/Odua Local Government Area of the state. The casualty figure is likely to increase, as many of the participants sustained bullet wounds and are in critical condition.

Investgations have revealed that there is tension in the entire Abua/Odua Local Government Area because of the recent activities by cultists.

Many residents have also expressed fears about the incessant clashes among cultists, who were described as jobless youths who were tasked by politicians to fight their political opponents.
